Terrigal Bowl, as its name suggests, is a naturally occurring landform where the ridge falls steeply towards Terrigal CBD and its beach. La Joya is located on the north east face of the bowl with stunning views of Terrigal Beach, The Haven and the northern coastline.

To maximise the potential of the site, the development was split into two pavilions linked by a central circulation core. The building form imitates the topography by terracing towards the street and the beach, thereby reducing the height and apparent scale.

La Joya comprises 4 three bedroom apartments and a four bedroom penthouse that straddles both pavilions. Balcony and window placement optimise existing view corridors and increase the perception of generous living spaces. Balconies are framed by recycled hardwood pergolas each uniquely imprinted with its former use. All apartments have been fitted out with state of the art audio and security systems.

Pedestrian access to La Joya is through a well defined gated entry structure that leads to broad concrete stairs set between retaining walls and landscaping. The pedestrian street entry and the foyer entry are framed by the recycled hardwood, creating destinations at key points in the journey of the pedestrian. There is a high level of security between the public and private realms however, due to the nature of the site, apartments are not isolated from the street, instead interact with it.

This “jewel” of Terrigal has been highly successful which is supported by early sales of apartments and public sentiment.
