Barrett Pinet Architecture's approach is based on a project by project response. An approach has evolved where the building is the product of the interaction between the site, existing fabric, client, architects and other consultants, codes and constraints. All forces are bound together by an underlying philosophy which supports rather than dictates an outcome.

This approach has been developed over 30 years of the practice and research of architecture, in Australia and internationally.

Visual and aesthetic sensibilities, spatial and tectonic qualities, proportions, the play of light and shade, juxtaposition of mass and textures, the relationship of exterior and interior, the characterisitics of materials, construction methods, issues of sustainability, durability, flexibility and change, all form part of the design process, informing the outcome.

Undertaking a wide range of projects, capable of linking with other practices, with support from a variety of consultants, Barrett Pinet Architecture adopts a team approach in working together with clients, authorities, builders, artists, designers and others, towards a successful outcome. Client relationships are developed for the achievement of mutual goals.
