Barrett Pinet Architecture : : La Caleta Tennis Club

Tags:

The club is located in an urban area adjacent to a huge park of eucalyptus trees. The clubhouse is centred on the site and is surrounded by five tennis courts and pool. Five linked circular huts wind through the site, for change rooms, administration, bar, restaurant / theatrette / lounge. The materials are natural, coming from the local rural tradition: eucalyptus logs, thatch, bricks, limed walls, slate, granite. The interior is cool in the summer under the thatch umbrellas. Steel is the “modern” material, used for services, edges, skirtings, and furniture (Danielle Pinet & Alvaro Farina)
