This contemporary, rectilinear house is washed in shades of organic brown which link well with the geometric sand stone and interspersed pebble inlays of the hard landscape design.

Sited with the living areas facing north, wide patios are linked with steps down to an extended lower activities area. The swimming pool however is at the same level as the patio, providing ease of access from the house.

Tasmanian sand stone pavements have been used throughout the design but are broken by textural changes in both hard and soft mediums. Pebbles are a prominent medium in this design and are used on horizontal and vertical surfaces. They have also been used to replicate water in the courtyard pond.

A full-size trampoline has been dropped into the timber deck on the blind side of the house. It has proven a high use facility in a household of growing children.

The soft landscape design is limited in its palette. Evergreen and deciduous self adhering climbers cover masonry walls. Mini mondo grass is used at ground level to emphasize inlay patterns within the paving. Accent plantings of Yucca and Cordyline provide eye level interest in this contemporary landscape
