Eckersley Stafford has been designing gardens throughout Australasia for thirty years. The company was founded by Rick Eckersley, after graduating from Burnley College of Horticulture in 1975, and has steadily grown a reputation for innovative, creative design.

Eckersley Stafford Design comprises a small team of dedicated consultants from horticultural science, landscape construction and garden design backgrounds. The company is a member of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects.

Eckersley Stafford Design is a client driven organization. From town house courtyards to commercial centre developments, the designs reflect an individual unbranded outcome.

Two books have been published from the Eckersley Stafford stable - the highly acclaimed book, Living in the Garden - Australian Style, published by Lothian Books and the new book, Outside, published by Penquin currently available.

The business operates from two locations - the principal office in the Melbourne inner city suburb of Richmond and a secondary office in Flinders, a rural coastal area of the Mornington Peninsula.

The design philosophy of Eckersley Stafford Design is based on sustainability, aesthetics, functionality and client personality. Eckersley Stafford pride themselves on creating beautiful outdoor spaces for clients to take ownership of. The team likes to challenge and guide clients to a result which is distinctive, beautiful and quintessentially Australian. It is emphasised that there are many options available in garden design, and that falling into the trap of copying or accepting mediocrity offers little reward.
