This project created a light filled modernist extension to the rear of a single storey cottage in Randwick. The new pavillion is separated from the original cottage by a new entry courtyard and deck, with entry through the side of the courtyard.

The entry and rear walls are all glass to open the interior to the garden, while the side walls contain services and joinery pods with north facing windows above to bring in winter sun.

Exposed steel framing and industrial detailing add a contemporay edge to the new work in contrast to the traditional detailing of the cottage.
