Identity Group is a medium sized company, specialising in the design of retail, hospitality and commercial interiors. Director Callum Pankhurst leads a professional team of designers with qualifications in Architecture, Interior Architecture and contract management, our diverse backgrounds and varied experience providing a well rounded perspective for any design challenge. Open discussion and debate is encouraged within the team to push design boundaries and ensure the best solution is achieved in all projects.

Identity Group aims to provide unique designs which evoke emotional responses and also work functionally for the people using the spaces, both staff and customers. Minimalist and classical influences are combined with an emphasis on creating beautiful spaces through surface treatment, materiality and attention to detail. The Identity Group palette of materials is visually rich and warm, textured and patterned, including extensive use of whites and neutrals as backgrounds. Favorites include natural timbers, stone, concrete, leather and ornately patterned wallpapers, as well as organic and sculptural yet functional and timeless furniture. Basically anything which adds to the richness, softness, warmth and comfort of a space. Lighting also plays an important role in creating illusion and depth, shadow and reflections, giving texture to otherwise flat surfaces. We aim to create a balance between open and intimate, light and dark, linear and organic, raw and refined, natural and synthetic, structured and ornate. It is a combination of all these factors which are unique to every individual project and designed to suit the client's brief and function of the space.

Currently Identity Group are working on a number of nationwide projects all of which adopt these design principles. We have also designed a significant amount of retail spaces and commercial offices over the past eight years.

Identity Group are able to offer a complete design package from the Concept stage through to Construction documentation and Project Management, depending on the individual client's needs. We are highly experienced in all stages of the process, including meeting the New Zealand Building Code and local planning requirements.

The Identity Group design philosophy is to create not only stunning interiors with a point of difference, but functional and comfortable spaces that people just simply want to spend time being in. The key is to make a space as easy as possible for people to use, while at the same being classic and timeless, visually beautiful and original.
