HOT vision
To provide an experiential, interactive travel store with a point of difference which caters for every individual customer’s travel needs.

HOT space
We have aimed to provide a professional corporate environment with a residential comfort and style. An open yet intimate space…

The shopfront is where it all begins. It is predominantly glazed to create a visual link to the colourful interior and, most importantly, to welcome people in, to be seen as a busy, interactive space which differs dramatically from the competition and from the traditional travel agency as we know it. The House of Travel signage is positioned strategically at the
point of most impact. A fun and dynamic space draws customers in and encourages them to realise their travel dreams.

Special attention has been paid to creating a functional yet inviting space which caters for all the different needs of each individual customer and ensures that staff can continue to deliver the expected high performance and efficiency. It is intended that staff are less desk bound and more mobile within the store, encouraging client interaction and engagement in a more social, less intimidating environment.

The main space is open plan but has been divided into more intimate spaces using careful placement of furniture. The main entry leads into the informal meet / greet / chat / wait interactive area with the more traditional travel agent workstation area located beyond which ensures privacy and is less intimidating for customers.

.: The HOT pod is the base for a roaming staff member who meets and greets customers upon arrival and is available for general enquiries, advice and instructions on how to use the internet / database services provided.

:: The multipurpose HOT spots are informal discussion areas for meeting / waiting / consulting with staff. Power and data is provided for laptop use so that these spaces could be used as an alternative to the more traditional workstation situation.

:. The interactive HOT wall is provided for personal customer use while they wait to see a travel consultant. Customers are able to access the House of Travel website and database to book their own flights and research new options for travel destinations.

:. The HOT consultation workstations are located to the side for more privacy while still being very much a part of the main space. The shape and position of the desks allows customers to either sit across from or beside the travel consultant. Ample storage is provided in a concealed cupboard unit in order to keep desks free of clutter. Staff are based at desks but encouraged to be mobile and interactive.

.:. The HOT meeting room provides an area for group consultations, multimedia presentations and for when higher levels of privacy may be required. A power point presentation or slideshow could be projected on to the end wall with the possibility of having images projected continuously throughout the day.
