Andrews Neil UDG is a regionally based Urban Design practice focusing on the holistic integration of design disciplines to create places which are not only environmentally and culturally sustainable, but are also truly liveable. Building on the existing structure of a place is key to our ethos. This requires an extensive process of consultation and immersion in the history and development of the place in order to understand not only the current structure, but also the reasons and events which formed it over time. Andrews Neil UDG’s point of difference is that we see this “immersion” to be a crucial stage in the development of the plan. So often it is glossed over, or even overlooked.

Urban Design is not a discipline, but an outcome resulting from the collaboration of each discipline, which in turn brings a specialised skill to the design team. Andrews Neil UDG have inhouse specialist Architects, Town Planners, Landscape Architects and Ecologists. This is coupled with our experienced consultant team of professionals in the design, development and procurement of a wide variety of urban and regional development types throughout the Sydney and NSW coastal region, as well as through Qld, Vic and SA.

Awards include the UDIA Best Consultancy Award for the Central Coast Structure Plan, the Newcastle Hunter Awards for revegetation and rehabilitation of the lower Hunter Coal Mining precincts and the National Trust award for Orange Council’s review of significant landscapes. In addition, Andrews Neil UDG continues to receive both National, State and Regional Awards for outstanding Urban Design, Architecture and Landscape Architecture.

In 2007 Andrews Neil UDG received the National MBA Award for the best residential apartment (La Joya Terrigal Beach), both the 2007 HIA and MBA NSW Awards for apartment developments in NSW, various UDIA NSW Awards for best Urban Design and Landscape Design from 2001 through 2007.

Andrews Neil UDG is a principle Urban Designer and the Landscape Architects for RTA and has worked extensively throughout NSW on a multitude of projects with particular emphasis in Regional Areas, which required a more indepth understanding of local issues and sense of place.
